First time I came across this concept was when I watched this TEDx talks video “The ten-item wardrobe” (For some reason I am unable to link it but if you search that on youtube you will find it, please save sometime and watch it). And I was hooked, being a college student with no income that sounded right in every way and I had been wanting to practically make it my life. Fast forward years later I have.If you follow me on instagram you might have notice the repetition of my outfits on pictures. This is because I am currently at a transition stage trying to discover and create my personal style (its never too late you guys) which has become much easier to identify with the few items in my wardrobe. Also it has been much easier to find something to wear.
I am officially starting to shop for my new wardrobe, nothing fancy or different from what I have now but i’m excited.I want to experiment with this before I finally say this is it. Here is to many thrift trips (BTW, I spent my saturday afternoon at Mwenge with a friend), bargaining, and online shopping. As I transition (really? I need to chill with all the brackets now). I am also going to be doing a few photoshoots since I don’t have those happening, if only I was a fashion blogger. So I might also throw in a few style posts here and there sharing this journey with you guys.
Notice how many times I have worn that jeans? Yes it’s torn and worn out now, maybe just a few more times or a little repair will do. 😂😆
