How to: Fade dark spots & marks

How to fade dark spots

I briefly talked about this product on my July current favourites list and promise to do a whole post on it,here we go.

So I had a lot of dark marks on my skin after the crazy break out few months ago and normally I have oily to spot prone skin.Being the product junkie I am,I also had this garnier toner but hadn’t been using it.One day I decided to use it and measure results and now I swear by it.

The garnier Pure active range products work really good on the skin.I have used the pure active 3 in 1 (wash, scrub and mask) before now I use the Pure active micellar cleansing water & this Pure active Intensive spot purifying toner.

It says results from day one but it took almost a week for me to see results which wasn’t bad.So I use it as my everyday toner now and the marks have been fading slowly. Before using this toner I had been using other home made solutions for dark marks and acne like thisΒ Turmeric maskΒ I shared on here. And that is what has brought me to share the other natural home made methods for clearing dark spots and marks.
How to fade dark spots

This is a home made easy DIY method I have used a number of time to fade dark spots and cure acne.It can be mixed with a number of ingredients depending on the need and availability.I previously shared the ingredients to my turmeric home made mask.Turmeric needs some sort of patience and consistency for you to be able to achieve the desired results.

Fresh squeezed lemon juice is another method I have used. Since I have very oily skin,I normally apply the lemon juice straight onto my skin using a cotton pad without mixing it with anything. For those with sensitive and dry skin you might need to dilute it with a little bit of water, rose water or mix it with some honey.Leave it on for a few minutes the rinse with clean water.

I have not used this but I have heard from a lot of people who have said to have seen good results. Its one of those from the kitchen skin remedies that is always associated with fading dark spots. All you have to do is simply cut the potato and place the pieces over the affected area for some minutes then rinse off.

  • Mix honey and grated potato
  • Apply onto affected areas
  • Leave on for 10 minutes then
  • Rinse off with warm water

Granire micellar water and toner

Apart from the garner toner the garner micellar cleansing water is another product that is my go to.I use it to cleanse off my make up daily and it has worked way better that face wipes did. It leaves me with a fresh clean face feel. Also the reason as to why I prefer micellar water is because it comes as a rescue to those lazy days when all you wanna do is just lay down.

i am going to buy the cleansing water and try it out. and do you thing your routine would help for someone with white patches on the face?

    • August 22, 2016 / 2:49 pm

Hi Rabia, honestly I don’t think this would work to fade white patches.Unless its for the intention of clearing dark marks only while neglecting the white patches.
The cleansing water does such a good job, also don’t forget to get the right one for your skin type when buying. xx
