The reading tag.

The reading tag.

Hey guys, No book of the month post for April but here is a fun reading tag I came across and decided to take part in. You can also participate, here or anywhere on the internet space  (please tag me, I’d like to see). Xx

THE READING TAG

1. Do you have a certain place for reading?
Mostly in my bed or the couch and sometimes in the car/bajaj while on traffic.

2. Bookmark or a random piece of paper?
I do both depending on what’s close. I mostly use bookmarks when I’m reading at home, I forget to carry them around.

3. Can you stop reading anytime you want or do have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part etc.?

I like to stop at the end of chapters but if the book is boring or I’m just tired then anywhere.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

Sometimes.

5. Can you read while listening to music/watching tv?

No I can’t. I just won’t concentrate.

6. One book at the time of several at once?

I have done/ do several at once but often times one at a time.

7. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
People read out loud? I thought we leave that in school.

8. Do you read ahead or skip pages?

It happens when I’m about to stop reading the book because it’s boring or I simply didn’t like it.

9. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

Keeping it new.

10. Do you write in books?

I highlight important quotes to give emphasis to my mind and the next person who will read the book’s.

Jackie And I spent a night at Sunrise beach resort in Kigamboni the other weekend. It was a third time for me but the highlight has always been getting up early to catch the sunrise by the ocean front then taking a dip.

Why sunrise beach resort:

Clean beach front ( cleaner than most beaches in Dar es salaam )  and situated in a not busy part of the city giving it a somewhat chill vibe.

When is the best time to go:

During the week if you can, less people and more calm. But if you are going for the weekend then evenings and early mornings are best.

How much it costs:

visit the hotel site HERE for rates but we booked via bookings.com and paid US $ 50 double for a night in what they call an excecutive room ( not pictured) .

Have a lovely week. xx

Happy New year loves,

One quote I live by is “Do the best or not at all” and I like to approach things I do with that kind of attitude. This for me means really putting in the work in whatever I started because why be average? When I started blogging I did not know much, I just wanted to share my experiences hoping to inspire and connect. All I knew there was was write, add photos, and publish little did I know blogging is a field of its own and a big part of digital entrepreneurship.

“We are drawn to things we are naturally good at” Jen sincero in You are a badass book

I spend the whole of 2016 staying up late night researching, reading, watching, attending webinars just anything I could land on that gave lessons on blogging and digital entrepreneurship as a whole. Sharing my experiences is one but being able to monetize it is another (the blog still serves the same purpose regardless) . I feel like I haven’t been doing enough and I have come to learn that you need to invest in whatever it is you expect to yield good results from.
Also blogging has given me a sense of freedom I have never felt, the rebellious kind of freedom. I have also learned so many life lessons I did not know I would. I guess God has a way of bringing forth whatever he wants to send our way.

“Because so often when we say we’re unqualified for something, what we are really saying is that we’re too scared to try it, not that we can’t do it.” Jen Sincero in You are a badass book

I hope everyone is able to experience what I am talking about, not necessary it comes from blogging but from that one thing you have been longing to do or that idea you got just last week. I challenge you guys to start whatever it is you wish or want to go for. Just START, this is the attitude you need to keep making moves. If you are able to start what you are scared of putting out there, you will be able to do more and go places. Let us approach 2017 with that kind of attitude and do the most. Remember change won’t come if you keep up with old habits and ways of doing things.

“Procrastination is one of the most popular forms of self sabotage because its really easy” Jen Sincero in You are a badass book

Thank you for your comments, emails, and DMs . To receive a message on how I inspire someone through what I do means so much to me. I am glad that we connect in such a way, when we are able to inspire and motivate each other even from miles away. Thank you!
wishing you an awesome 2017. Lets go do!
